Our Story

Growing up on a cattle farm in northern NSW, Dr Will has always been an animal lover, so it was only natural that he became a vet. With a career that started in mixed practice in rural NSW, zoo and wildlife work in Africa, treating pampered West London pets, and braving freezing large animal work in the north of England, Will has pretty much seen it all. He has also been managing vet practices for years, so when the opportunity to take care of Five Dock Vet came up it was the perfect fit. Will has a strong belief in community-focused veterinary care — he volunteered for StreetVet in London looking after homeless people's pets and strives to help the local stray cat population in the inner west. His clinical interests are broad and he always goes the extra mile to understand both patients and client concerns. Outside of work he is a serial hobbyist with a long list of unusual occupations that seems to change every few months. The three constants in his life, besides being a vet in Five Dock, are his wife Aalisha and their three-legged cat Isosceles.

Katrina is a friendly face that many families already know, and after 30 years of service at our practice she has built strong bonds with the local community. She helps drive the standards of care we aspire to in the clinic and is always willing to go the extra mile for pet owners and patients. Behind the scenes, Katrina manages the team and day-to-day operations to ensure we are all supported to deliver the very best for our patients. At home, she is kept busy by her two chihuahuas Pablo and Coco, her three cats Ernie, Ulli and Bobby Ferret, and her five children.

Jimmy is a highly experienced veterinary professional with more than 28 years in the industry. She has advanced training in anaesthesia and dentistry and is known for her calm, skilled approach to patient care. As an experienced anaesthetist, she takes great pride in making every procedure as safe as possible. She is also passionate about leading and encouraging new vets and nurses as they build their confidence in the profession. At home, Jimmy enjoys time with her beautiful family, her two dogs Daisy and George, and any opportunity to travel.

Gen has been with the practice for over 10 years, so many of you will already know her. With decades of veterinary experience, she provides practical, knowledgeable advice to pet owners and tackles complex medical and surgical problems with confidence. She has a special interest in ophthalmology, a challenging and valuable area of veterinary medicine. Gen has two Burmese cats, Astrid and Delphi, and is also busy at home with her husband and two human children.

Tiffany graduated from Sydney University in 2013, following in her father's footsteps after he graduated as a vet from the same university in 1976. As a result, Tiffany has grown up surrounded by animals and all aspects of the veterinary profession. She saw her first surgery when she was just 5 years old and grew up working as a vet nurse in her father's clinics. After starting her professional working life as a radiographer, her love of animals, people and science called her back to the books. Over the past 7 years since graduation Tiffany has worked in two different small animal clinics in Sydney. Her areas of interest include diagnostic imaging and surgery and she is currently studying for her membership exam for small animal surgery. Tiffany shares her home with her husband Robbie, her two human kids Annabelle and Lilly, and her two fur babies Charlie and George, who she hand-raised from 2-day-old kittens. Outside of work she enjoys the great outdoors with her family, cooking, reading, and exploring her creative side with her kids.

Ingrid is an enthusiastic and dedicated veterinarian who has been working hard to build her skills across all areas of practice. She is very personable, communicates clearly, and is the kind of vet who follows up to make sure her patients are genuinely improving. She has a real soft spot for her patients and takes pride in doing things properly. As an added bonus, Ingrid can speak a little Cantonese and Mandarin if that makes your visit more comfortable.

Dr Charmaine graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2004 with First Class Honours and began her career in a busy 24-hour general practice and emergency hospital in metropolitan Melbourne. She is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and is committed to providing thoughtful, compassionate care tailored to each patient and family. Originally from Singapore, Dr Charmaine speaks conversational Mandarin and enjoys connecting with clients from diverse backgrounds. She joined Five Dock Veterinary Clinic in March 2025 and values being part of a supportive team focused on lasting client relationships and long-term pet wellbeing. She has a soft spot for senior pets and is especially known for rescuing elderly Pomeranians with complex medical needs.

Wendy has been with FDVH for five years, and her years of nursing experience mean her patients are in very good hands. She has a special affinity for cats and strongly advocates for fear-free handling and care for our feline friends while they are in hospital. With previous industry experience working for equipment suppliers, she also helps service our medical technology to keep it in excellent condition for patient care. Wendy shares her home with seven cats who definitely keep her on her toes.

Fabs is one of our enthusiastic veterinary nurses with a deep interest in anaesthesia and radiology. She excels in wound care and bandaging and is committed to maintaining high standards of patient care for every patient she works with. Fabs loves animals great and small and shares her home with three dogs, a cat, and multiple fish tanks. She is also a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

Izzy was a student with us and has recently joined our team full-time. She has done an exceptional job developing her clinical skills and has shown great dedication throughout her learning. Izzy is direct, approachable and always helpful with pet owners, making her a valued member of the team. Outside of work, she’s also a proud owner of a ginger Maine Coon kitten named Tyson.

Sabrina is another familiar face to many local families, having looked after pets and their owners in Five Dock for more than five years with patience and a smile. Animals absolutely love her, and although that may have something to do with the careful use of treats in the waiting room, she brings the same kindness and skill to every treatment she gives in hospital. Her gentle approach helps patients feel comfortable coming back to see her again and again.

Gabby joined Five Dock Vet as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at the beginning of 2026 and is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient who comes through the clinic doors. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, with a particular love for large breed dogs and helping pets feel comfortable during their visits. Outside of work, Gabby is a devoted animal lover and proud pet parent to three dogs Ace, Max and Butch, and her cat Lucy. Caring for her own pets keeps her passionate about animal health. She loves building relationships with both pets and their owners and is dedicated to ensuring every patient receives the best possible care.
